Once again, I`m putting ideas given to me by a couple of people into one here.

Corrections were done up to Episode 17 at the time of this writing.

Sorry, this is a short episode.

He would be in the guest room, but currently it is filled with junk and hasn`t been used as a guest room in quite some time. So, Shadow will be resting in Amy`s room, much to Sonic`s dislike.

Sonic is standing off to the side with his arms folded, watching the two of them. He`s doing his best to keep himself under control and not loose his cool in front of Amy. As much as he would love to leap across the room and take advantage of Shadow being down to strangle him, he knows that Amy will be angry, to say the least. Her being angry with him is not going to help him in having her as his girlfriend.

Shadow`s thoughts are flipping between Amy and getting back at GUN as he sits on Amy`s bed. She is helping him remove his shirt so that his wounds can be tended to and he can be cleaned up. Amy tries not to get too distracted by how bloody his shirt is. She must concentrate on helping Shadow, she can be shocked later. As the shirt slips off from Shadow`s body, Sonic`s expression grimaces more. Sure Amy is just helping Shadow but still. His blood is boiling. Shadow had put her in danger and she still goes to him. She shouldn`t be with Shadow, she shouldn`t be helping him, she shouldn`t be taking his shirt off!

Amy rolls Shadow`s shirt into a ball as her eyes scan over his body to assess the damage. It looks as though the blood splatters made it appear he was shot multiple times but he wasn`t. There`s the first bullet wound, entering in the back and exiting through the stomach. Then there`s the skim across his shoulder. So, the initial shot didn`t hinder Shadow as badly as Amy thought. He was able to avoid being shot again. It was the blood loss that did him in. Shadow races as quickly as Sonic. Such an exercise gets the blood pumping quickly. It most likely didn`t take long for a large amount of blood to leave his body.

Shadow wearily lays back against the pillows that were propped up for him. Amy sets the bloody shirt down on her desk and grabs a dampened towel she gathered a moment ago. She begins to use the dampened towel to start cleaning the blood off from Shadow`s body. But a moment after she begins, Shadow takes the towel from her. He would rather clean himself and he does so. Amy takes this opportunity to find her medical kit.

When Amy leaves the room, the already stiff atmosphere of the room shifts to a more threatening feeling. Sonic directs his attention straight to Shadow. He watches Shadow a moment as he cleans the blood from his body. Sonic`s fingers tighten their grip on his arm as the anger in him towards Shadow rises. Then, he steps towards the bed to get closer to Shadow.

Shadow exhales as he wearily allows the damp towel to drop down beside him. The light-headed sensation is getting to be rather bothersome. All he needs is a little time so that his body can concentrate on healing. The refuge of Amy`s home will allow him the opportunity that he needs. Just a little time...

Sonic speaks up and sounds very serious,"Listen here, faker. You almost got us killed because of your stupidity. I`ll not have my friends dying because you`re a loose cannon that can`t control himself. I don`t want to see you ever again. And I especially don`t want to see you around Amy or Tails."

Shadow does his best to focus his eyes on Sonic, though he can`t get a clear focus at the moment. He will not grace Sonic with a response. The blue haired one is lucky that he is Amy`s friend or else he wouldn`t be so tolerant of him. However, Sonic is pressing his luck with Shadow. Everyone has a breaking point. Shadow is nearing his with Sonic. Shadow heaves his usual haughty "Hmm!" and turns his head to the side to show that he is not the least bit intimidated by Sonic`s threat.

Amy re-enters the room with her medical kit. The room`s atmosphere drops to a lesser level as she enters and Sonic leashes his anger back under control. He turns away from Shadow and steps away from the bed.

Looking to the side, Shadow can see the pink hedgehog plush laying on the floor between the bed and the wall. He recognizes the plush. He had laid it on Amy`s bed just before he left to go look for her after her being kidnapped. He doesn`t hear the short conversation between Sonic and Amy as he is focused on the pink plush. Why is it on the floor? Did Amy see it at all? Did she read the little note that he attached with the plush?

Sonic decides to leave the room as Amy begins bandaging Shadow`s wounds. However, he stays pretty close by. He finds reasons to pass by the bedroom door every so often and peeks in through the door to check up on Amy. He can`t help but feel a little paranoid about leaving Amy alone with that psycho.

As Amy is wrapping the bandage around Shadow`s torso, she begins talking to him,"Shadow, you can`t keep attacking GUN like that. That just aggravates them more."

Shadow closes his eyes,"You know what they did."

"It doesn`t matter. They came after you guys in the first place because they thought you were going to be a dangerous weapon against people. If you attack GUN, you`re just proving them right."

Amy secures the end of the bandage and sets her medical kit down on her desk. She sits down on the edge of the bed next to Shadow and looks at him,"I want you to promise me that you won`t attack GUN anymore."

Shadow opens his eyes and looks at Amy. Has she really thought about this request of hers? It will definitely be extremely difficult to follow through with it. When he doesn`t answer her, Amy gets worried,"Shadow! Promise me!"

Shadow takes a deep breath and closes his eyes again. He opens his eyes half way and emotionlessly answers,"Fine. I promise."

Suddenly Amy throws her arms around Shadow`s neck, nearly causing him to fall backwards on the bed. Shadow isn`t quite sure how to react to this. Before, the hugs Amy gave him were much more soft, this one is very forceful. Amy tightens her hug on Shadow,"Thank you...I`m just so worried about you..."

"Don`t be."

Amy releases Shadow and feels a little sheepish for getting very emotional on Shadow like that. Usually she is in more control of herself around Shadow, much more control than that. Her emotional outbursts are typically unleashed on Sonic. She puts a little distance between herself and Shadow thinking that she had made him mad by acting that way a moment ago. She looks down to the floor, wanting to avoid eye contact with what she believes to be Shadow`s dangerous expression.

Shadow turns his head to the side of the bed. She must have not noticed. Someone must have just thrown it aside before she saw it. Shadow leans over the side of the bed to where the bed is close to the wall. Amy turns around to watch Shadow as she has noticed him changing positions. Shadow reaches down between the bed and the wall and takes hold of the pink hedgehog plush. He brings the plush back up and sits up on the bed. He looks at the plush in his hand solemnly for a moment, in silence. Amy is looking at the plush as well but she remains silent as well, waiting for Shadow to say or do something.

Shadow shifts his eyes to Amy and still says nothing. Amy looks back up at Shadow. They look at each other for a moment more before either one says or does anything. Shadow extends out his hand and offers the pink hedgehog plush to Amy,"I had got this for you."

No need to mention what happened to the first plush. That wouldn`t make her happy to hear about it.

Amy looks at the hedgehog plush with awe. He got her a present! Amy takes the plush and hugs it. Her girlish ways can`t remain hidden; she remarks that it is sweet of Shadow to get her a gift. It is a perfect gift, too! Her favourite colour is pink and she likes animal plushes; hedgehogs are especially a favourite. Amy shifts her eyes up to Shadow.

Hedgehog...The same name he bears...

Sonic has heard every word. He stands by the doorway with his back to the wall, just out of sight from the two teens in Amy`s bedroom. After hearing Amy`s words, she is in on whatever is going on between Shadow and GUN. She is definitely in on it. It`s high time that Sonic finds out what is going on. He deserves to know after all, right?

I know he is hiding there...
