Here are the parts that were cut off from Episode 18. They would have been included but that episode was getting stretched out and I wanted to get an update up for the series. Had assistance from a couple of people for a scene that appears later on in this episode. Hopefully I melded the two`s ideas together well.

This episode is nearly as long as the other one, so you see why I broke them up.

"Shadow!"

Shadow is caught off-guard. He frantically spins around and sees Sonic and Silver standing there. Silver has his arms folded, standing beside Sonic. Sonic has his fists on his hips. He taps his foot impatiently,"It`s all over the news! You`ve got a few hostages, you`re wrecking Radical Highway and are attacking the military! Amy doesn`t deserve to be dragged into this!"

Shadow closes his eyes and blocks out Sonic ranting about how he is endangering people`s lives. He begins to think. Amy needs to get home so she can be warm and get nourishment. However, GUN may follow her and harass her. GUN is after Shadow but not Sonic. Sonic has been Amy`s friend for quite some time, he would not harm her. Shadow opens his eyes.

Shadow begins to walk towards Sonic. Sonic gets a little angry,"You haven`t heard a word I said-"

Without a single word, Shadow pushes Amy into Sonic, cutting him off. With that being unexpected, Sonic clumsily moves his arms to get them into position to take Amy. It takes a moment of fumbling around but Amy gets successfully passed from Shadow to Sonic. Shadow looks at Amy a moment, then he looks seriously at Sonic,"I will draw them away. You take her home where she will be safe."

Sonic looks very confused. He looks at Silver as though he were looking for an answer but Silver`s only response is a shrug. Silver is just as confused as Sonic is. Shadow begins walking to the entrance of this little hidden area. Amy turns her head towards Shadow and watches him go. Sonic`s muscles tighten a little, getting ready to run once GUN follows Shadow away from here. Silver prepares himself as well.

Shadow pauses at the entrance. He looks out and sees all the GUN jets are in the distance, still looking for him. Shadow takes a deep breath and then breaks out into a run.

Once he has taken two steps out from his hidden temporary sanctuary, Shadow is shot in the back. The bullet enters through his upper back and flies out of his upper stomach. Shadow`s facial expression is a shocked one as he stops running and goes down to one knee. Blood pushes it`s way through both bullet openings.

Amy, Sonic and Silver all gasp on this sight. At least one of the GUN soldiers must have known that Shadow was there in order to have a sneak attack like that. Shadow takes another breath and he rises back up on both feet. He places a hand over the exit wound on his stomach. Finally, Shadow breaks out into a run towards the GUN jets. A large puddle of blood sits where Shadow was and a thin trail leads from the puddle down Shadow`s path.

Amy begins to wriggle around in Sonic`s arms. She`d scream out Shadow`s name if she could but the best she can do is cry. Jet had her fooled that Shadow was dead, now it looks like he will get himself killed. Sonic does his best to not let Amy go. It would be dangerous for her to go out there while GUN is still all over the place. While Sonic is busy restraining Amy, Silver keeps a look out to see if all of GUN soldiers present in the area has left to go after Shadow.

Amy finally gives up her fight to escape Sonic`s grasp. She turns around towards him and sobs into his shoulder. Sonic looks at Amy a moment and feels terrible about her being this upset. Whatever that has happened to her over the past few days must have been just awful.

Silver turns back to Sonic and Amy and tells Sonic that all the GUN soldiers have gone to chase after Shadow. They can hear the multiple rounds being fired at Shadow in the distance. Amy`s grip on Sonic`s shoulder tightens up as she hears the gunfire, knowing who they are intended for.

Sonic and Silver jog out of their hidden place and head down the highway to go back to Station Square. Their pace quickens up so they can get to Amy`s house as soon as possible. But Sonic keeps his speed down so that Silver can keep up. (Sonic is noted as the fastest thing alive and I like to keep it that way.) Sonic looks at Silver as he carries Amy down the pavement,"Give everyone a call and let them know what is going on. Tell Big to keep Tails at my house; I don`t want Tails seeing Amy like this, he`ll be devastated."

Silver agrees and pulls out his cell phone. He uses it like a walkie talkie and follows Sonic`s command to inform everyone of what is going on.

The three teens make it through Radical Highway without any problems from GUN. At the end of the highway, there are a group of police officers with their cars who have blocked the highway off from citizens to go through. The highway is being blocked off to prevent any innocent people getting harmed while GUN is pursuing Shadow. Seeing Sonic and his friends coming from the highway, the police quickly allow the small group passage through. Once out of Radical Highway, Sonic and Silver head straight to Amy`s house.

Her house has been left unlock this whole time so Sonic and Silver has no trouble gaining entry inside. Silver closes the door behind him and watches Sonic carry Amy to the kitchen. The stairs here will take them upstairs. Silver follows behind Sonic,"We got her home, now what?"

Sonic ascends the stairs with Amy still in his arms,"First, we`re going to get Amy to bed and get her something to drink. She`s definitely lost some weight."

In the bedroom, Sonic enters and approaches Amy`s bed. Silver darts around Sonic as Sonic stands beside the bed. Silver grabs the pink hedgehog plush and tosses it to the side. It falls on the floor between the bed and the wall. Silver then pulls down the blankets on the bed. Sonic lowers Amy down onto the bed and pulls the blanket up over top of her. The blanket will do a much better job at warming her than Shadow`s jacket.

Sonic then stops. Shadow`s jacket? Sonic looks at Amy`s shoulders and sees that Shadow`s jacket is still on her. Why would she have it?

Sonic turns to Silver and tells him to go down to the kitchen and get some water and food set for Amy to have. Silver exits the room and does as told. Sonic looks back to Amy and sees her shiver starting to lessen. Sonic pulls up the chair from Amy`s desk and sits besides her bed. Sonic`s voice softens up,"Amy, what happened to you?"

Amy lifts her tired eyes up to Sonic. In the light and up close now, Sonic can see the dark rings under her eyes. She looks absolutely exhausted. She speaks quietly to Sonic,"How long was I gone?"

"It`s Wednesday-Er, Thursday now, well after midnight."

Amy closes her eyes, her hands grip Shadow`s red chaos emerald tighter under the blankets,"I was trapped...For three days...?"

Sonic nods his head. Amy opens her eyes halfway,"I was in my kitchen...Having some water and was going to go to bed because there was school the next day...I heard a knock at the door and when I answered it, the Babylonians busted in and kidnapped me. They took me to some warehouse place and held me there with no food or water. They wouldn`t even let me rest...Wave came in and attacked me, I was no match for her...Then Jet would come in and tell me how no one cared I was gone and that he killed Shadow and..."

Sonic rises up in his seat a little, taking notice of Amy`s pause. Amy`s body shakes a little as she tries to hold back her tears,"It was torture! They had me believing everything they said! I thought I was going to die!"

Sonic reaches his hand over and moves her bangs from her face,"You don`t have to worry anymore, now, Amy. We`re here. We`re all friends. No one is going to leave you behind. We`ll all be here for you, Amy, and we`re going to get you through this."

Sonic looks at Amy`s clock that is sitting on her desk to check the time,"Don`t worry about going to school in the morning."

He turns back to Amy,"I want you to stay home, get some rest and your strength back. Just relax and take it easy."

Silver enters the room with a glass of water in one hand and a small plate with a sandwich on top in the other hand. He sets these things down on the desk. Sonic thanks him as he helps Amy sit up. Then Sonic reaches his hand up to Shadow`s jacket and he takes a hold of it to remove it from Amy. Amy quickly jerks away from Sonic with a small noise. One of her hands grasps the side of the jacket to hold on to it tightly. Sonic retracts his arm and downcasts his eyes,"I`m sorry...I just thought it might get in the way of you eating."

Silver hands the glass of water to Amy. She releases her grasp on Shadow`s jacket and takes the glass from Silver. As she drinks the water, Sonic notices the red chaos emerald in her hand,"Amy, is that a chaos emerald in your hand?"

Amy stops drinking and opens up her hand a little to see the treasure she has been keeping a near death-grip on. Her hand then tightens back up around the emerald as Sonic speaks,"Where did you find it?"

Amy looks at Sonic,"Shadow gave it to me."

"Where did he get it from?"

Amy looks down at the cup of water in her hand,"I had given it to him a while ago."

Sonic asks nothing more about the history of the emerald. But he is curious as to why Shadow had it. For now, he won`t question Amy further about the emerald. She`s stressed out enough as it is and he is confident that later on, she will give it to him. She always had in the past.

Silver speaks up,"I better get home. You should, too, and let her rest up."

Sonic shakes his head,"I`m not taking the chance of the Babylonians coming back to give her problems again. I`ll be staying here tonight."

Silver yawns and starts walking out of the room,"All right, see ya then."

Sonic picks up the plate with the sandwich and sets it on the bed next to Amy. Amy looks at Sonic,"You`re really going to stay here?"

Sonic nods his head,"Yep. I wanna make sure that no one comes in and bothers you again."

He stands up from the chair and shoves it back to the desk where it`s original spot was,"I`ll be downstairs so if you need anything, just say so."

He takes a step towards Amy and opens his mouth to say something. Words fail to come out of his mouth, however. He closes his mouth and then steps away from Amy`s bed. Sonic leaves the bedroom and goes downstairs to the living room. He leaves Amy`s bedroom door open so that if she has to call him for anything, he will be able to hear her.

Amy turns to the sandwich. It looks like Silver did a decent job with it. She picks up the sandwich with her free hand and starts eating it. Her other hand holds the grasped red chaos emerald close to her as though she is afraid someone is about to snatch it away from her. The chain attached to the emerald slips through her fingers and dangles down with a soft "ting-ling" sound. Amy begins to wonder why Shadow gave the emerald back to her. He would have more use for it than she would. In addition, she knows that eventually Sonic is going to ask for the emerald from her.

The pink haired girl now feels better after the sandwich and water. Her body healing from it`s beatings will take longer but she is definitely on the road to recovery. She puts the empty plate on her desk and the empty cup next to it. As tired as she is, she isn`t ready to go to sleep just yet. Amy has something on her mind.

Amy goes to her window and puts her elbows on the sill. Her head rests on her hands and she looks at the night sky. No stars are visible or even the moon. It must be clouding over to get ready to rain. She sighs and tilts her head to the side to allow just one hand to support her head. Her other hand relaxes and opens a little. Her fingers clasp the end of the chain while the red chaos emerald falls loose from her hand and dangles. Amy directs her eyes onto the shining emerald. Wonder if it will storm tonight?

Her eyes shift back up to the sky. Is Shadow ok? Was he able to get away from GUN?

Amy thinks over of when Shadow was shot just before he took off. She closes her eyes. No, she s not going to cry again. But still...He should not have gone running around with a hit like that. No matter how powerful he is, that will definitely hinder him which could turn the tables. Amy opens her eyes. He can be so stubborn at times.

What will you do if GUN captures you? You know what they will do to you, right?

Amy sighs with depression. She worries about Shadow. She always has since...

What`s that coming in from the woods behind her house? Amy lifts her head up. Her bedroom window is on the side of the house so she can get a view of both the front lawn and the back yard. Something is emerging out from the trees and entering her back yard. Slowly.

Amy leaves her window and exits her bedroom. She could get a better look if she were actually out there to see what`s approaching her house. She creeps down the stairs quietly to not attract Sonic`s attention. Luckily, he has the tv on. He seems to be watching the news, most likely to catch anything on Eggman who has mysteriously gone quiet again. Amy quietly goes to the back door in her kitchen. She looses her balance for a moment; her body is still adjusting to how weak it has grown from the lack of nourishment and the aches and pains it still experiences. Amy immediately looks across the kitchen to the living room and sees that her stumbling has not gotten Sonic`s attention. She feels relieved at this and proceeds to open the back door.

She has her piko-piko hammer with her in case it is anything dangerous. Normally Amy wouldn`t be so bold, she would send her hero, Sonic, to investigate. But since her feelings have been shifting and changing, she doesn`t feel she should send Sonic out here. She should learn to take care of herself. Wave overpowering her has proved how dependent she has gotten on others. At the same time, it is fear that drives Amy to come out. When she gets cornered and scared, and Sonic isn`t around to save her, Amy usually resorts to fighting for herself. She hasn`t had to do such a thing often but it has happened often enough where it has become a part of her personality.

She walks slowly away from her house and then stops. Her hammer is ready in her hands. She stands off to the side of the house opposite of where the figure is so it doesn`t know that she is there. A shame it`s so dark out or she could see who it is at a greater distance.

It passes her by to go around the house to get to the side of it. Then it is close enough for Amy to be able to identify it.

Shadow!

But...he doesn`t look too good...

Shadow has a hand over the exit wound of the first bullet he received. His hand is drenched with the escaping blood from that wound. Blood from said wound is leaking down his shirt and even down his pants. The entry wound of the first bullet on his back has it`s own small river of blood down his back though it is only half as bad as the latter wound. A tear in the sleeve of his shirt on his left side has a bit of blood on it. It suggests that a bullet has skimmed his shoulder. There are several blood splatters scattered around on his shirt. Amy isn`t sure if that is because Shadow was shot several more times or if the blood is from GUN soldiers. He looks pretty exhausted and uses his mouth to get a little extra air in his system. His walk is sluggish and shows that he`s in pain. His half closed eyes are fixed forward so he hasn`t noticed Amy`s presence. She can see his eyes occasionally close tight for a moment before opening them half way again. This would signify that his vision is blurred or otherwise hindered in some other way.

Amy freezes in place at this sight of Shadow. She has never seen him in such a bad shape before. The single shot he received on Radical Highway must have been the reason why; it was an unexpected hit that slowed him down. The wound has resulted in a huge amount of blood loss, that by itself must be the main reason for him being slowed down.

Shadow stops and leans against a tree that is beside Amy`s house. Perhaps a quick rest and he can continue to her front door. Ahh...The world is spinning...Feeling light-headed...

Shadow drops down to the ground. He is down on one knee, mirroring his classical pose for this. His hand remains over his first bullet exit wound. He closes his eyes and internally condemns himself for falling so easily to GUN`s attack. This attack has made him to look weak like everyone else. But he knows that he is not like everyone else. He is different. He is far more powerful. This little incident will surely just be a small bump in the road of life. They just caught him off-guard and played dirty. If it wasn`t for the fact that Amy was on the highway...Shadow opens his eyes half way as his breathing slows down. He prepares himself to stand up and continue his path to Amy`s home.

Before he can make the move, Amy is suddenly on him, hugging Shadow from behind. Ugh! Caught off-guard again!

Amy has her arms around Shadow`s upper torso, trying to avoid touching his wounds. It`s after a pause that she tightens her hug on him. Shadow can tell from the enthusiastic hug that it`s Amy. Her way of hugging is unique and unmistakable. He relaxes a little under her grip. She tells Shadow that she wants him to come inside so he can get cleaned up and can heal.

Shadow lowers his head a little. He did not intend to intrude in on her home, he just planned on checking on Amy to be sure she got home and was safe. Besides, it`s supposed to be him taking care of her, not the other way around. Shadow curses GUN again for reducing him to this state. He will have payback, oh yes he will.

Amy stands up and starts pulling up on Shadow`s arm to encourage him to stand and accompany her to inside her home. He grits his teeth as she begins to pull on his arm. Must keep anger in check. After all, it`s not her fault. She didn`t ask to be kidnapped. He gives in to her wishes and slowly rises up to his feet, though it is painful to do so. He does his best to hide how much pain he is in though he can`t fully put on his usual emotionless face right now. His leg steps off to the side once he is up to try and control his balance, which is failing him from the blood loss. He is quite wobbly. With another vision of the world spinning, Shadow feels as though he`s going to fall back down to the ground.

Amy quickly positions herself against Shadow for him to lean on her for support. What she hasn`t considered is his weight and has forgotten her own weakness. She nearly falls over herself as she accepts the weight of Shadow on her. He is heavier than she thought he would be. Sure guys are usually heavier than girls but it is sometimes difficult to know exactly how much heavier a guy is. A bit more stumbling and manages to adjust her body to handle Shadow`s weight.

She hurriedly walks him to the back door, as it is closer than the front door. Amy isn`t sure of how long she could support Shadow`s weight. In addition to a weakened body, he is also pressing on her bruises. Shadow is all too aware of Amy`s current state. He wants this as quick as possible. When they reach the stairs, Shadow takes hold of the railing with his hand that does not grip his wound. He takes his weight off of Amy and shifts it to the railing and walks himself up the stairs. Amy walks up behind him ready to assist him if he needs it.

Shadow is an independent person and takes pride in his strength. If at all possible for him to do something himself, he will take that opportunity and insist upon it. This is no exception. He has faith in his own strength to get up these stairs. Plus...It is very ungentleman-like to have a lady have to help him walk.

Sonic looks away from the tv and looks down through the kitchen. He catches Amy and Shadow heading up the stairs.

Hm. The blue one is still here...
