After dropping Tails off at the elementary school, Sonic walks to the high school. Yes, he is walking, not running. This would be Sonic`s first time not being the first person of his group to be there. In fact, he`s the last person to show up in the group. He is taking his time to get there. He does not feel comfortable with Shadow`s presence one bit and wants to lessen that time with him as much as possible. Sure, Sonic is used to quiet people. Espio is the quietest one in the group before Shadow joined. But something about Shadow wasn`t right. What could it be? Sonic can`t quite put his finger on it.

Sonic enters the school and makes his way to the cafeteria. It will only be a few moments before the first bell rings. Sonic quickly erases his contemplative look and replaces it with his cocky smile. He will worry about Shadow later. Now, he is among his friends and has his classes to concentrate on.

He sends everyone his usual morning greeting and is promptly glomped by Amy. Once she releases him and Sonic regains his breath from her overpowering hug, Sonic can`t help but smile on the inside. At least she is still acting like herself and so is everyone else. Maybe he`s just over-reacting to Shadow over his jealously of him being able to run as fast as he does?

Then the first bell rings.

The class after math class is the science class. This one is some kind of biology class that Amy doesn`t have much interest in. This is the one class she has that she likes the least. While learning about the different animals is fun, she can`t stand it when it comes to dissection time. She has tried multiple times to get out of those sections and sometimes she can get herself out of it. But this time, she can`t.

(I have been blessed to never have had any classes where dissection was done, so pardon me if any mistakes are made.)

The instructor of this biology class is going to have everyone dissect a frog. She passes out a box to everyone in the class that has one deceased frog in each box. Then she hands out the tools that will be needed to dissect the frog. Most of everyone isn`t bothered by this; Shadow just looks down at his frog emotionlessly. Lord only knows what he`s thinking in his head. But Amy is in total disgust. She will be even more disgusted once they get started. She begins to run through her head all the reasons why she should skip these sessions. Why must the instructor insist she dissect animals?

Amy`s inner thoughts are interrupted as the instructor stands before the class in front of the giant chalkboard. She begins to describe to everyone how they will carry out this task and what things they will be looking for. She picks up the chalk stick and turns to the chalkboard to write out a list of organs she wants the students to find in the frog. Once she finishes writing the word "heart" on the board, there`s a loud "THWACK" next to her and the board jiggles a little. The classroom is instantly dead silent.

The instructor turns her head to the side and sees a frog body pinned to the chalkboard by a pencil just inches from her head. Her mouth drops open being more in shock than angry. She whirls around to the class,"Who just did that?!"

Most of the class stare back at the instructor with their own shocked looks. No one is saying a word until finally Shadow speaks up,"I did."

Amy looks at Shadow for a moment and then notices his frog is missing from the box on his desk. Shadow, emotionlessly as ever, is looking straight back at the instructor. The instructor looks at Shadow for a moment. In one way she can kind of see why it is Shadow that threw the frog, in another way though she is surprised to find that it was him. She puts her hands on her hips and prepares herself to scold Shadow,"And why in the world did you throw the frog on my blackboard?"

Never changing his facial expression, Shadow responds,"There is no point in this. Even I am not morbid enough to bring in a bunch of dead carcasses for some kids to invade the body of a creature that earned it`s eternal peace. If I wanted kids to play with something, I would have brought them some real toys."

The instructor stares at Shadow for the moment with her hands remaining on her hips. Shadow stares back at her waiting for a response from her. Not sure of how to take Shadow`s answer being that it is the first she encountered such a response, the instructor quickly says,"You failed this assignment!"

As the instructor turns back around to finish writing her list on the chalkboard, Shadow says, as only Shadow can,"Fine."

The instructor continues to write out her list on the chalkboard and has a verbal description to go with each item she writes. As that happens, Amy looks down at her frog on her desk. Then she looks at Shadow. He has his arms folded, watching the instructor. Amy looks back at her frog and wishes silently to herself that Shadow had thrown her frog so that she wouldn`t have to dissect it.

Amy puts her elbow on her desk and sets her head on her hand. She has a very bored look on her face as the instructor continues to yak about the directions of what to do and what to look for. Amy closes her eyes, wishing she wasn`t in this class.

Shadow tilts his head slightly and looks at Amy, taking note of her lack of desire to be here.

The instructor stops writing on the chalkboard and puts her hands on her hips victoriously as she overlooks her work on the chalkboard,"And that`s all there is to it!"

She turns back around with her hands still on her hips. She smiles to everyone,"Anyone have any questions?"

THWACK

Another frog goes sailing past the instructor`s head and becomes pinned to the chalkboard by another pencil. The instructor`s eyes widen as the frog passes by her at near lightning speed. Then she becomes angry,"SHADOW HEDGEHOG!"

Shadow has a satisfied smirk on his face while his eyes still look bored. Amy`s eyes are widened and she is sitting upright now. She looks down at her box on her desk and sees that her frog is missing. She looks back up at the instructor in an almost "I didn`t do it, I swear" fashion.

That was kind of fun...
