Quick note - For those of who like to run through their heads the voices of the characters as they speak in stories, the voices are the same as they are in the games.

I`m not entering physical or clothing descriptions of the characters as I have not figured out their design yet. Once I do, I will have coloured art of them which I will post in my gallery.

Summer had ended a while back and it seems like winter is just around the corner. The temperatures are cooling off more though it is still warm enough for girls to get away with wearing skirts without freezing. Classes have been in session for a few weeks now so all the students are in the routine of class, homework and freedom.

This school that we are focusing on is a high school in Station Square, known as Station Square High, or sometimes even SSH for short. There is about a half hour before the first bell rings for everyone to move on to their first class of the day. Slowly, but surely, one by one, students are entering the school and make their way to the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria, a lot of the Sonic crew are gathering at one of the tables. Tails, Charmy and Cream aren`t here; they are not old enough to be in high school yet but the two always join up with everyone after school. Sitting at the table are Rouge, Espio, Vector, Blaze, Big, Silver, Mighty, Sonic, Knuckles and Fang. They are all discussing their plans for after school. The group gathers together before school as early as they can muster so they can have at least some fun to charge them up to get through boring school.

Outside of the school, Amy is skipping her way towards the school happily. She is looking forward to meeting up with her friends but she is in no hurry to get there. She finds a hopscotch pattern drawn onto the sidewalk, probably made by elementary kids. She skips along the pattern as though she were actually playing the game. Once she lands on both feet at the end, she smiles at her accomplishment and looks up to the high school that she is about to approach.

Amy`s smile drops as she notices a particular guy about to ascend the steps of the school. She looks at him for a moment and then a wide smile creeps up on her face. She bounds up quickly and quietly behind the guy. Then without warning, she leaps forward to him and wraps her arms around his waist as she throws herself into him. Upon contact, the guy begins to loose his balance being caught off-guard. He quickly raises his arms and looks down at the girl with a surprised clenched teeth look. Amy squeals,"Shadow! You made it!"

Shadow calms down realizing that it`s Amy, but he doesn`t speak a word. Amy releases Shadow and comes up in front of him,"I`m so glad you decided to join us to high school this year. It`ll be so much better for you than home-schooling."

Shadow nods to her simply though not seeming to be too thrilled about being here. Amy snatches a piece of paper from Shadow`s hand,"Let`s see what classes you have! Hmm...Wow, what a coincidence! You have almost all the same classes as I do and at the same period! Except when I have dance, you have gym. Oh you`ll be so good at that I bet!"

Amy hands the paper back to Shadow who takes it from her and stuffs it in his pants pocket. Amy grabs Shadow by his wrist and pulls him with her,"Come on! You should meet the rest of the gang!"

As she pulls Shadow with her, Shadow seems nervous and a little put-off by her enthusiastic nature. He isn`t putting up a fight about her dragging him with her to whatever location she wants him to go to. They enter the school`s front doors and go down a ways down the hallway until they reach the cafeteria.

With the cafeteria coming to view, all the noise of the chatter of the students here reach Shadow`s ears. Knowing he`ll be surrounded by people and all that noise instantly makes Shadow`s body tense up and regret his decision to join high school like all normal teens. Right before they enter the doorway to the cafeteria, Shadow stops, refusing to enter the cafeteria. Amy looks over her shoulder at Shadow. Wordlessly, he shakes his head at Amy. Amy smiles and tugs on his arm to insist that he go with her. Shadow hesitates and then continues to walk with Amy in the cafeteria.

Amy leads Shadow to the table where Sonic and the others are. Shadow`s apprehension rises upon seeing the very large group, and he has a feeling that this isn`t everyone either. Amy must be really popular with people.

Sonic is the first to notice Amy and he waves to her with a smile. But then his smile drops and his wave slows down to a halt when he notices that she is pulling Shadow with her. Amy waves to Sonic with her free hand,"Hi, Sonic! Hi, guys!"

Everyone gives Amy their morning greeting. Once the greetings are over, Amy pulls Shadow up beside her and gestures to him,"Everyone, I`d like you to meet Shadow. He`s been a friend of mine as far back as I can remember. He`s had home schooling for a while. I asked him to come back to public school and recently he decided to do so."

Everyone in the group politely greets Shadow. Shadow just silently gives a single quick wave to the entire group.

So far, so good.
