It was later in the day than usual for Amy to wake. Usually she was getting up a little after dawn. Yesterday wiped her out so much her body needed the extra sleep. She didn't know what time it was and wasn't concerned with it when she woke. Instead her mind was on other things.

At first, she sleepily replayed the dream she had in her head. It was strange... The dream depicted her and Shadow standing back to back, surrounded by a barrage of Eggman's robots. She was using her hammer while Shadow utilized his Chaos Spears. They were destroying robots, but they kept coming. It was like an endless supply of them.

Being into tarot cards, Amy was also into dream interpretations. The endless robot army could be an indication of how she felt like they were never going to defeat Eggman, considering how long they've been at it. Usually these types of dreams had Sonic with her. Ah, probably yesterday's training put Shadow on the brain. That was a lot more time spent with him than she usually did.

Amy groaned as she sat up in her bed, deep in a brain fog. Her body ached more than it did yesterday. With time and moving around some, it was bound to get better later. The pink hedgehog yawned then stood.

Shadow had decided that leaving wasn't the best move, he did not know the area, however he did know that Amy, being as well known as she is, would be popular, so the possibility of someone attempting to get into the house certainly crossed his mind. So instead he stood up, walked to the nearby couch in the other room and sat down, at first he was simply awaiting for the next day to arrive, yet over time his body slumped over and he fell asleep.

At the time Amy had woken up the ultimate life form was still in this sleeping position, it was certainly more comfortable than sleeping in a tree or on the grass, his elbow was rested on the arm rest, his fist pressed against his cheek, keeping his head up as he let out deep snores.

While sleep wasn't needed for him in the same way it was for others, that didn't mean he didn't get tired and when a tired hedgehog meets a comfortable and soft surface, sleep is likely to take place.

As the hut was like a studio apartment, the couch was visible to the bed. But at first, Amy didn't notice the ultimate lifeform sleeping on her couch. She shuffled to the bathroom to begin her morning ritual.

Three seconds later, Amy scrambled to the bathroom door and paused, grabbing the doorframe with both hands. She stared wide-eyed at Shadow on her couch. What. The. Heck???

It wasn't an issue of someone uninvited being in her home. Sometimes Amy can be too trusting. The shock was more of the fact it was *Shadow* on her couch. This wasn't an everyday thing. He never stuck around after whatever job was going on was done. The black hedgehog would just leave after the fact, leaving everyone behind.

Amy scratched her head and tilted her head as if she was trying to solve a difficult puzzle. This was so weird. What made him decide to stick around?

Hopefully no one was going to come by and see Shadow asleep on her couch. Chaos knows what the crazy rumours would be. The thought of Sonic attacking him came to Amy's mind. Not out of malice but he would likely worry that Shadow was doing something distasteful to her.

Better not wake him. Amy never saw Shadow sleep before, or even sit, for that matter. She knew he worked for the military sometimes and she had heard that it was a dangerous game to wake up a soldier. Who knew how Shadow would react if she were to wake him. So, Amy decided that perhaps the best thing to do was just go about her morning rituals and wait for him to wake on his own.

But before doing that, Amy grabbed one of her throw blankets and draped it over Shadow's lap. This one had bunnies on it along with carrots. At least this way he could have some warmth. It was the time of year where mornings still were chilly.

Then Amy retreated into the bathroom and closed the door, starting her bath.

A few minutes after Amy had entered the bathroom Shadow had woken up, his eyes breaking open as he glanced around, the scent of Amy's home coming into his senses as he regained consciousness.

It took him a moment to regain memory of what had happened yesterday, the fact he was training with Amy, he had carried her home, once he remembered that he leaned back slightly so he could see into Amy's room, seeing that she was no longer there. He looked down, noticing the blanket that was placed on him before hearing the sound of running water. Good, she was awake then.

Shadow couldn't really understand it but he had a protective instinct when it came to the pink hedgehog, one that could even be described as paranoia.

He wasn't sure how long he was out for in truth, but Amy had been in the bath for a fairly long while before he had woken up, he had to admit, he didn't expect needing the rest, though Rouge had told him before the only reason he didn't appreciate sleep was because he never had anything comfortable to rest on.

Amy finished with her bath and rubbed a towel over herself to dry off.

The closet for her clothes was connected to the bathroom so she was able to walk in there and grab a fresh set of clothes to change into. Everything but the boots were put on. She always stored her boots by the front door to keep the inside of her home as clean as possible. Mud and dirt all over the floor drove her crazy.

Following getting dressed, Amy brushed out her quills and got her headband on in its usual place. Ew, morning breath was awful. Brushing her teeth was next. Next was makeup. Yeah, even Amy wore a little. She kept it light, only using eye liner and mascara.

After a quick check over in the mirror, Amy was ready to face the world!

After breakfast.

Amy exited the bathroom and headed for the kitchen. Shadow being awake wsn't lost on her since there was no more brain fog going on. "Good morning~" she chimed in an upbeat tone and a smile on her face.

Shadow was relieved to see that as Amy exited the bathroom, she did so with her clothes on, the only one that would ever try and poke fun at him for a reaction by revealing more of herself after a shower was Rouge because well... She was Rouge, he wasn't sure how he would react from seeing someone like Amy wearing barely anything.

Her normal cheerful demeanor seemed to be something that was almost always on, it was odd to see her acting the same way so early in the morning. Someone who didn't know her well might even theorise the possibility that it was merely an act. Shadow knew better however, there was nothing fake about Amy.

"Apologies for not getting your permission beforehand." He began as he stood up, folding the blanket as he did so before placing it back on the couch. "I didn't want to leave your door unlocked overnight, so it seemed like the most logical thing to do." He explained, he was sure Amy wouldn't mind, however he wasn't going to take advantage of her kindness.

Amy was humming “My Sweet Passion” as she began pulling a pan and spatula from her cabinets. She set the pan down on the stove with the spatula next to it. Then she set up a bowl on the counter and got her mixer. It was non-electric. The village did have electric but it was minimal. So the limited resource was saved for the really important stuff, such as lights for at night.

Her humming paused and she looked up from the counter. A tilt of her head and she smiled, “Awww, were you protecting me?” She wasn’t aware but a light blush formed on her face, “You’re so sweet~”

She returned to her activity, now going to the pantry to get a box of pancake mix and retrieving an egg from her fridge, “I bet that whoever you hook up with would feel very secure and very happy with you. I’m kindda jealous of whoever that person will be.”

Heck, Sonic never stuck around to watch over her. Camping trips didn’t count cuz, well, everyone was together so… Amy could hold her own in battles most of the time. But she would be lying if said she didn’t have the feminine fantasy of having someone protect her sometimes. Maybe that’s why she latched onto Sonic. He was a protector of sorts, a protector of the planet. Amy just happened to be in it…

Amy paused, setting a couple of measuring cups down on the counter. Was Sonic ever going to notice her as more than just a friend?

She quickly shook herself of that and returned to her cheerful self, “You want some pancakes? How many?”

The reaction was... Kind of what Shadow had expected, but also kind of not, the only one who gave him that kind of reaction was Rouge, but in a more playful sarcastic way, now that Shadow had thought about it... His only reference of women was Rouge and Maria. Yet Amy was not Rouge, far from it and while he truly cared for Maria and the time they had spent together he couldn't really remember her mannerisms nor her way if speaking in much detail, in truth the ways of women, especially ones like Amy were a mystery to him.

Shadow turned away slightly and crossed his arms as Amy mentioned the idea of Shadow with a lover, as if that was ever going to happen. Needless to say Shadow had no plans to date, such a thing would only get in the way of the mission, more than that he would be dragging an innocent into his dangerous life... He couldn't do that again.

He was taken out of his thoughts however, specially when the conversation changed to food, she wasn't mad that he had stayed the night... But she was preparing food for him? Amy was truly strange. "Uh, two, thank you Rose." He replied, trying to not sound surprised, even though he was.

Amy prepared the pancake mix using the ingredients she pulled as well as water, then poured some of the mix into the pan. The pan was preheated so there was a soft sizzling noise with the pancake mix added. Amy grabbed a couple of plates from the cupboard and set them down on the counter.

A couple of forks and knives were grabbed from a drawer and Amy set them down on the table. The table was small. The hut was fairly small afterall, and Amy wasn’t expecting to have a bunch of people over. There was enough room for two people to sit and have a meal but that was it.

Next Amy grabbed a couple of cups and filled them with 1% milk. “I hope 1% is ok. I don’t like using skim so I don’t have any. But I know some people prefer skim.”

Amy set the cups down on the table then returned to the pan to flip the pancake over to cook the other side. She retrieved butter and syrup and set those on the table as well.

Shadow watched as Amy worked on the pancakes, in truth he didn't know how to make pancakes, Omega was surprisingly the only one that would volunteer to prepare any. Not that Shadow would stick around however, just because pancake Tuesday existed didn't mean all trouble magically stopped on that day, work still had to get done, at least that's what he always said.

Yet it seemed to be something Amy truly enjoyed, she had no issues opening her home to others and if anything did it kindly, it was a way of thinking the ultimate life form couldn't fully understand, yet it was one he respected regardless.

"1% is fine, thank you. However I cannot help but ask a question, yesterdays training session I had hurt you badly, then I slept in your home without your permission and yet you still decide to greet me with kindness and hospitality instead of as an intruder, may I ask why?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow, it was a question he couldn't quite get out of his head in truth.

Amy scooped the pancake from the pan and set it on a plate. She poured a bit of mix into the pan to work on the next one. Spatula in one hand, her free hand on her hip, Amy’s green eyes watched the sizzling pancake mix cook as she answered the older hedgehog, “Why wouldn’t I? You’re a friend, right? Er-“

Amy turned her head towards him with a look of apprehension. Whoops. For a moment, she forgot he usually rejected that notion of being friends with anyone. “Ah, I mean friendly acquaintance.”

She raised her hand from her hip to gesture as she spoke, “It was training though, right? To help me improve my battle skills. Not because you were wanting to hurt me, right?”

She looked back to the pancake and flipped it over, “And you stayed in my house because you were concerned about my safety. So you didn’t have bad intentions. Everything on my end points to you helping in the way you know how.”

She set that pancake on the plate then took that plate, setting it on the table. Returning to the stove, Amy got the third pancake started, “I mean, yes the training was rather rough… But I understand it’s the way you know and I understand the intent.

“Like, I know the reason for your actions don’t always come across to others clearly,” she was trying to choose her words carefully, not out of fear for Shadow’s reaction but more so trying to help him understand, “Everyone else doesn’t seem to get it but it seems to me that… Well, I don’t know if this is accurate, but from my perspective it’s like you weren’t fully taught social skills. So good intentions may not appear as such to people who aren’t aware that you don’t know how to behave.”

The word friend was one that Shadow avoided, practically all the time, many people viewed himself, Rouge and Omega as friends, yet Shadow called them associates, it was also interestingly enough something Rouge didn't budge on, sure if she herself was asked she would call Shadow her good friend, but she never tried to get Shadow to see her as such.

Shadow gave a nod as she thought about the training, he didn't regret his methodology of training her, even after seeing she was very sore and very tired. She was fine now, she had learned more skills then she had before and she was fine now, so there was no trouble.

He simply gave a nod in confirmation about it just being training, his form of training was rough after all. "I think part of the reason many do not get my methods is because many are too soft in their means of doing things, it is fine to be kind when things are relaxed, however once things become troublesome, the people must learn to adapt, I have adapted to a troubled world." He explained to her, though he couldn't help but delve deeper into her logic. "However, tell me, in what way do I not know how to behave?" He questioned.

A smirk drew on Amy’s face. Right. She had said part of the deal with her getting training was that she would teach Shadow to improve his social skills. Today would be a day they could dedicate to that. There were a couple of opportunities.

Amy finished the last pancake and turned off the stove. She brought the last plate over and sat down on one of the chairs. Grabbing the knife, she spread butter over one of the pancakes then proceeded to drown it in syrup. “There’s a lot of room for improvement.”

She set the syrup container down and began cutting her pancakes into multiple square pieces, “Notice the way I worded that? I’m putting a positive spin to it. Rather than putting you down or making it sound like an insult, I’m trying to give you something to look forward to. I could have said ‘You sometimes talk like a jerk like you just did a moment ago.’”

Amy pointed her fork towards the other seat, “Have a seat. Enjoy your breakfast.”

She took a bite of one of the pancake pieces, “You labeled people as too soft. It’s not that people are too soft. This is just how people are. We’re not unfeeling machines. People have feelings. Emotions are an important part of our being. It helps guide us whether we’re encountering something that’s harmful to us or good for us.”

Amy lifted her eyes to the ceiling as she tried to think of a way to explain this in Shadow terms, “Let’s see… You know WHY we’re fighting Eggman, right? It’s because we’re fighting against tyranny and because we can. We all have abilities that most people don’t. Sonic has his speed, Knuckles has his raw strength, Silver with his telekinesis, Blaze and her fire… And you with your chaos powers. But most people aren’t gifted with these abilities. They physically can’t fight back against Eggman’s army. You call them soft for running in fear. But fear is what’s helping them avoid danger. If they didn’t feel fear, people would just stand there and get snatched up for being roboticized or stomped flat.

“Now for us, it’s important we don’t let fear stop us from acting because we’re the only one who can do anything. Fear still pops up for us though. Like for example, when that building was crashing down, fear motivated us to get the heck out of there cuz if we didn’t leave as fast as we did, we’d be killed. Emotions play an important role in survival.

“It’s good that we can remain tough in battle. But we’re not always in a battle. Yes this is a troubled world but there’s a lot of good to it. ‘Being soft,’ as you call it, has a lot of areas where it’s important and is the right course of action. Hey, you should come with me today. I’m going to help Whisper take care of some baby squirrels she rescued from a tree Eggman knocked down yesterday. You could give us a hand.”

Shadow watched as Amy moved, he couldn't deny that Amy was an attractive woman, she carried herself well, she was very expressive, very feminine and why was he having these thoughts right now? He had believed he would be able to avoid these thoughts after spending so much time with Rouge, yet Amy was just a different kind of feminine, one he couldn't quite pin himself on.

He paid attention to her teachings regardless of the fact he truly believed that this was a waste of time, he still listened out of respect for their deal. Whether he liked it or not Amy had committed to his training lesson and did so for many hours, it would be disingenuous if he didn't do the same.

Her logic of putting a positive spin on a negative was something he could understand to an extent, yet it did not change the meaning of what she was saying, so he failed to see the difference. Yet he wasn't going to attempt to rebut her, he treated her as though she knew nothing, he should logically place himself into the position of simply not knowing anything yet.

He followed her instructions as he continued listening to her, sitting down and beginning to eat. "While yes the most logical thing for a citizen to do is run when danger arises, it is important to learn from ones short comings during times of peace, yet I look around and I see many go back to a state of everything is fine, which given it is only you and I know something more is going on, because only you and I were competent enough to explore the possibility. I think that allows me to deduce these people are limiting themselves and it's their own choices that are causing their disadvantages, unless you think Tails was born a genius or you were born skilled with a hammer, or Rouge was born with martial arts." He pointed out to her before he went back to eating.

That was when the Squirrel idea came up... Shadow did not look amused by this idea.

“There is a such thing as people being born with a natural talent in something. Genetics being an element. Tails was born with higher intellect than most people. Sonic was born with his speed. Knuckles was born to be nothing but muscle. Espio’s camouflage is a natural ability of his,” Amy held her hand out towards Shadow, “No one can train to become a chaos user. That’s so rare you’re the only one I have heard of.”

She ate another pancake piece then bent her wrist, holding it near her face as she continued, “I think it’s going to be even more important for you to do this exercise with me. Your comments tell me you’re unaware of what life is about and what goes on in people’s lives. Life is more than just fighting all the time.”

If only she understood the logistics of Shadow’s creation. He was originally designed to be a fighter, a soldier.

Shadow listened to what Amy explained once more, not wishing to cut her off due to the disrespect that may bring, he noticed that she didn't have an answer for every example he had given, mainly herself and Rouge. After all, those were skills, not genetics. Shadow was not one that was a fan of the genetics excuse, Sonic was never apart of an ultimate life form project and yet the two were rivals. However this was not the time to be discussing nature vs nurture, this was Amy's lesson, not a time for him to try and teach her.

Shadow let out a low *hmph* about Amy's statements about life and what it was truly about. "I would have thought that you would be the type to say life has a different meaning for everyone and they must search for said meaning... Or something like that." He replied as he finished his pancakes, Shadow was a fast eater, mainly because he took every task seriously... Which happened to include finishing a meal.

“It is,” Amy said with a simple shrug, “But there’s a lot to it. And I feel like you’re missing out on a lot of things life has to offer. There’s a lot to learn. Like, what are your goals? What do you want to do with your life? Do you want to have a family?”

Then Amy paused and made an odd face, “What are your hobbies? I don’t know anything about you, really, except you like to fight. And your motorcycle. Do you still have it? Anyway, what do you like to do for fun?” Then Amy put her hands on her hips and raised a brow, “And don’t say training. It’s gotta be something that’s purely for recreation.”

She looked down at Shadow’s plate as he quickly downed his meal. With a frown, Amy lifted her head and looked at Shadow with her eyes half closed in annoyance, “Do you even know what those tasted like? See, this is what I mean. You need to ENJOY life. Not see it as a problem to solve.”

Shadow in truth did not think much of this line of questioning, his goals should have been clear, to protect the world from destruction, a goal that was forever in danger thanks to the likes of Eggman and other chaotic forces. He couldn't even be there to stop the threat every time, there would be times he would be off world when an attack took place, such as when dark Gaia rose from the world, he wasn't just taking a break that day after all.

The question of a family? He did not have time to consider such a thing, he was in no loving relationship nor did he plan to be in one. "I do not see the logic behind this reasoning, my goals are to keep the world and its people safe, I assumed you would be aware of that, children and any lover I chose to have would be in danger if they were associated with me, as such it goes directly against my objective. I believe that should answer your question." He explained before gulping down the milk Amy had provided.

This was right as her point about the way he ate came up, one that perplexed him. "I do not understand, I assumed you made the food to be eaten, that is the purpose of food, I achieved that purpose in a sufficient amount of time... Did you wish for me to eat it slower? To review the meal that you prepared?" He asked, clearly whatever point Amy was trying to get across wasn't quite getting to the ultimate life form.

Amy frowned at his answer about goals and family. She wasn’t one to expect everyone to have kids. The pink hedgehog did respect people who knew their limits and chose the childfree lifestyle. “So…You don’t want to have someone to share your life with? That sounds so…lonely…” Her frown shifted from one of disappointment to sad, “I can’t imagine a life of where you’re alone. No one to come home to or to share life experiences with. No one to hold you when you’re feeling sad or help you when you’re struggling,” Amy crossed her arms over herself almost like she was assuring herself. Sure she had a lot of friends. But coming home was empty…

There were times on the Ark Shadow had struggled with his existence and the meaning of it all. Maria was there to provide him company and give him reassurance.

She shook her head and dropped her arms, switching to the current and refocusing on the subject of meals. “Meals provide your body nutrients and energy, yes, but they’re also a time of enjoyment,” Amy began to explain with a wave of her hand, “They can be a social time to bond with people close to you. Equally as important is enjoying the meal itself. How it tastes, how it smells, the textures… Eating food you like releases serotonin and makes you feel good,” Amy gripped her hands into fists but not out of anger. It was with joy, as evident by the smile on her face and the tone of her voice her heightening.

“And it’s an adventure to try out different foods and see what you like. Like last week, I got to try hibachi steak with tamari sauce. I didn’t have tamari sauce before so that was cool! Now I have a couple of options opened to me on how I wanna have my hibachi steak.”

Shadow didn't interrupt at any point in her speech this time, instead he simply allowed the pink hedgehog to talk, he listened to how she talked about the sadness of being alone, how it's better to have others around you to support you and have fun with. He then listened to her talk about food, which again seemed to be heavily tied to the idea of enjoying things with others, being happy and bonding, yet Shadow couldn't help but see a glaring contradiction.

"You speak of the importance of having companions and enjoying time with others, yet as far as I can deduce you live here alone and if I had not chosen to stay the night you would have woken up alone. So I feel the need to ask.. Is this morning better than most morning experiences for you? And if so why do you not request that one of your many friends come and stay with you? You seem to have a strong belief in togetherness yet I look around here and I see solidarity, that doesn't add up with the large selection of connections that you have." He explained, were his words harsh? Well yes as he just called Amy a loner that clearly thought life would be better if she had someone, but he said it the way he saw it, that was all.

The smile somewhat dropped from Amy’s face and she averted her eyes, “It’s crazy how on point your observations are. They designed you very well. And it’s no wonder the military has recruited you.”

She sighed and brought her green eyes back to meet Shadow’s red, “You’re right. I do live alone. This depends on cultures… But the culture here is you live either alone or with your family. Family can be your parents. But it also can be your mate. If you live in the city, you might get roommates to help with the rent because it’s so expensive there, as an example of a different culture dictating how living arrangements are done. Here, if friends live together, it is assumed they’re mates,” Amy the donned a nervous smile, “And I wouldn’t want to give anyone the wrong impression.”

Then the smile dropped once more, “But I do want to have that special someone to share my life with and come home to. I spent a long time hoping it would be Sonic. But I worry that he doesn’t see me the same way I see him.”

Suddenly Amy waved her hand quickly, “Oh listen to me dumping my problems on you. We’re getting off track.”

Shadow remained silent once more, he wanted to understand the contradiction, he wanted to understand if Amy was simply wrong in her belief system or if she was unhappy with her current predicament. It became rather clear that it was the latter, yet Amy didn't just want someone to live with, she wanted someone to love, which was something that she lacked.

He thought back to the many times he watched as she chased Sonic, for hours and hours, desperate to keep up. Shadow saw it as a waste of time, a crush that Amy was too stubborn to let go of, which in a way was still true. Yet he could see some logic in it, if Sonic was her hero in every other way, perhaps he could save her from her loneliness.

Yet as Amy attempted to change topic, that's when Shadow spoke. "No we are not." He stated in a stern tone.

"You clearly want to have someone to love in your life, Rose, however you speak of rules that Sonic does not follow, he does not follow the rule of only living with ones mate, I'm sure you've seen Sonic drop himself off at any house that happened to be nearby after all, whether it be with Tails, Knuckles, or you. Has it ever occurred to you that the loving relationship model that you imagine your life with Sonic becoming will not work simply because Sonic follows a different set of rules?" Shadow questioned her, Sonic was into adventure, fun, exploring the world and doing new things, sitting in one place and with one person, that was the exact opposite, yet that's what Amy was looking for, that wasn't Sonic.

The pink hedgehog went quiet, staring at the older hedgehog as she digested his words. What if was true? What if what Sonic wanted out of life was too different from hers? Adventures and exploring were fun and she did enjoy running off to them. But that didn't mean that was all she wanted. She wanted that special someone to share those things with. Shadow could be right. Sonic was immature, sure, but he may not want to settle down. Or if he did, it may not be any time soon.

Amy averted her gaze and took to looking down at the floor. She had already spent six years waiting for the blue hero to turn her way with love in his eyes. Scientists have done research into the matter and drew the conclusion that men on average start hitting maturity at age forty three. Could she wait another twenty years for Sonic to come around?

She turned back to Shadow. There was an urge to ask him about the male perspective but she thought against doing so. Shadow's social skills were very limited. Not to mention it wasn't like he hung around with Sonic so Chaos knows what was going on in Sonic's head. He was all smiles and jokes but a lot was still unknown about him. But there was one thing that Amy was starting to realize...

"He's keeping everyone at friendship length, isn't he?"

Shadow decided against pushing the point too hard, this felt like telling someone that Santa Claus isn't real, a dream they had constructed in their mind that was formed so meticulously there was no way it couldn't possibly be real. Yet Santa Claus was not real, there was no magical man that brought fun and joy to the eyes of everyone in the span of one night. No, instead it was the parents, a completely ordinary event that was disguised as a real life fantasy.

It was the same thing here, Amy probably believed Sonic was playing some kind of 'hard to get' game, yet what if he simply enjoyed Amy's company, had fun with her chasing him, but in the end he'd run off with his friends and only friends for a brand new adventure.

"Simply from my own observations, I would say yes, everyone you see here in this village, every child, man, woman, they are all here because they were inspired by Sonic, do you think you are the only one who wanted to settle with, only to watch him be perfectly content continuing with his grand quest for adventure? Hmph, I've even seen Rouge flirt with him, however it was never as a serious thing to get with him, more like a conversation where they simply operated on the same wavelength. My point is, Sonic has more options than anyone on the planet, yet with a smile on his face has selected none, I believe that in it of itself speaks volumes."

His words were logical. That was always his way. Yet there was a shred of hope inside Amy. What if Shadow was wrong? Even he wasn't right all the time, despite what his haughty demeanor would try to convince you of. There was one way to find out for sure...

"There's a dance tonight," Amy said almost suddenly. However, there was a somber tone to her voice, "It's a celebration the village is throwing to boost everyone's morale. I originally was going to invite you to it as another lesson in social skills but..."

As much as she wanted to tell Shadow her plan, she couldn't get her mouth to cooperate. If Sonic turned her down at the village celebration, that would be that, wouldn't it? People who liked each other danced together. Sonic would dance with her if he had interest. Turning her down would be the indicator of where his heart lied. Well, it at least would show that his heart wasn't with her.

Shadow crossed his arms and listened as Amy constructed her plan, the logic seemed to be fairly sound, if Sonic said yes then he wanted to be with her, if he said no then he did not, that was the end of it. "Hmm, I see, however you should keep in mind as I went over before, Sonic doesn't go off of the same life model that you deem to be the correct one, so regardless of whether he says yes or no, form your deduction from the way in which he answers, not just the answer itself." He explained to her.
