Soaked with soda and other food related fluids from his last spill, Scourge was seated on a wooden stool as Maria applied a cold pack to his bruised and swelling jaw. It may not have been the most feel good way but at least now he had Maria's attention back on him. Scourge smirked.

However, Maria wasn't so thrilled with the ordeal. She sighed, "I really wish you guys didn't get into fights so much..."

Scourge shrugged, "It's a part of life."

Shadow had his arms crossed, watching Maria tend to Scourge, "So what was it this time?"

"Tch!" Scourge scoffed, "Ain't none of your business, stripes. Even if I could remember, I wouldn't tell you."

"It is my business when your fuck ups put Maria in danger."

Maria paused with a worried expression on her face. Oh no. Shadow was starting to swear. A fight had just ended and another one was threatening to happen. She was a pacifist through and through and hated violence. There had some times that it was unavoidable and having witnessed them reinforced her views about it.

Scourge leaned forward in his seat, looking past the yellow hedgehog to the black one, "She wasn't in any danger! He was only after me!"

"Obviously you weren't paying attention," Shadow's quills stiffened. That fight had gotten someone innocent hurt and almost two others. Maria likely would've gotten hurt if Shadow hadn't been there to watch out for her. She was sitting next to Scourge, after all, when the bear came and begun his attack.

Maria moved between the hedgehog males and pushed back against their chests to try and get some space between them. Moving her head side to side to look at the both of them, she pleaded, "Boys, please don't fight. I really don't like violence and there was already a fight today. I don't like seeing either of you getting hurt. Please."

They stared each other down but didn't say a word. There had been tension between them for a long time and it seemed to be growing worse. No words had to be said but both knew what the other was thinking. For now, they would give in to Maria's wish and put aside their desire to fight.

Shadow took Maria's hand and slid it up his chest before lifting it and kissing the back of her hand, "Sorry you had to witness that..."

A small blush formed on Maria's face as she smiled.

However, Scourge placed his hand over top of Maria's, holding it against his chest over where the two large scars were. The guy was kind of anti shirt and left his jacket open all the time. Any chance that Maria was touching him intimately, he was willing to extend as much as possible. "We'll do better next time," Scourge told the girl and bore a playful smirk in attempt to shift the mood.

"I'm glad to hear it," she smiled to Scourge, believing his words to be true.

"Shall we return to the others?" Shadow suggested.

"Why? We're having plenty of fun back here," Scourge licked his top lip.

"Actually, that's a good idea," Maria said, "We came to dance and spend time with our friends. It would be rude to abandon them."

"Awwww maybe next time," Scourge didn't drop his playful flirtation.

Taking the boys' hands, Maria exited Rouge's office and went back out to the main floor. The mess had been picked up by this point but one of the staffers was still sweeping for broken glass. Walking into Maria to guide her around the area, Shadow warned, "Watch your step."

"Well, now that that's over with," Blaze commented, not too happy about the fight almost ruining a fun night out.

"Come on! Let's dance!" Sonic smiled, holding his hands out. He was getting bored just standing around and wanted to use up the excess energy he had. Plus everyone was being so serious. The club was supposed to be a place of fun!

The six hedgehogs and cat went to the dance floor and started dancing to the music. Amy and Sonic paired off, of course, while Silver and Blaze stayed close together. Shadow and Scourge flanked Maria as they usually did.

Both guys were good dancers though Shadow was less keen on participating in the activity. He wasn't fan of public displays of certain things he felt was embarrassing despite his level of skill and talent. He was the Ultimate Lifeform so he excelled in everything he did. But still, he wasn't comfortable doing it. Maria loved it when he danced though. He was so good at it and could turn some heads. Really a shame he wasn't more comfortable dancing. On the other hand, Scourge was quite comfortable with it as Sonic was. He was down for a dance any time and place. It was one of the few things he liked more than fighting. Maria was doing her best. It really depended upon what her condition felt like doing at the time. This time around wasn't too bad. At least she felt like she could move. Sometimes her body was too weak and wouldn't allow her to move around as needed.

She still tired quickly though. After two songs, she was huffing and needed to sit down for a break. Which kind of made a Shadow glad so he could stop dancing in front of people. Scourge still had energy to burn like his blue counterpart. So he remained on the dance floor while Shadow took Maria to sit down at the table.

Amy decided she would stop, too, after seeing Maria take a break. She went over to join Shadow and a Maria at the table while Sonic decided to have a little dance competition with Scourge. "So what are your plans for this weekend?" Amy asked Maria.

Holding Shadow's hand, Maria watched Scourge dance against Sonic as she answered Amy's question, "Unfortunately nothing fun. I'll be with the doctors again. They're going to more blood draws on me."

"Well that sucks," Amy pouted, "I was hoping maybe we could hang out or something."

Maria turned to Amy, "My next weekend is free. We can do something then."

That made Amy perk up, "Really?? Oo, how about we go to the book store?"

"I would love that!" Then Maria turned to Shadow and took a hold of his arm with both of hers, "Can we go to the bookstore next weekend with Amy?"

A reader himself, the bookstore was a good idea. It was nice and quiet and usually not overcrowded. Plus it was something of his interest, too. Without speaking a word, Shadow just nodded his head to Maria once, "Mm."

"Yay!" Maria hugged his arm out of appreciation.
